THE STARE CONTEST
A Red Shouldered Hawk looks straight into my camera at sunset. A rare opportunity to get close to this beautiful bird in the wetlands of Florida. It's rare that I get a chance to photograph one this close and for so long. This one cooperated and didn't seem bothered by my presence. I was quiet and respectful and was rewarded with several photos of this beauty.

My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
