SPACE MOUNTAIN
Space Mountain is one of the most popular attractions at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida. I decided to get a bit creative with this photo and the end result is exactly how it lived in my imagination as a child. Space Mountain brings to mind wondrous visions of the future in which space travel and interplanetary living are a reality.
Space Mountain opened in 1975 and is a high speed rollercoaster ride through the darkness of space with galaxies and planets zipping by as you hurtle though the dark. It's a bit intense at times but having ridden many rollercoasters since then, it's actually quite tame compared to some.
Space Mountain underwent a major refurbishment in 2009 in which the ride was upgraded and some of the elements of the ride changed slightly. One change that is immediately noticeable is that the cars no longer glow like they used to and they also covered the ceiling in the queue line so the tracks aren't visible anymore....
