FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN

When: Summer 2014
Where: Pike National Forest, Colorado.

A campfire lights up the forest on the side of a mountain in Pike National Forest in Colorado. I would have been content just to have the stars and the mountain in this photograph but when I heard voices and saw a couple of trucks head up the mountain path I decided to wait. Sure enough about 15 minutes later a campfire sprung up and created one of the most beautiful night scenes I've ever photographed.

My name is Mark Andrew Thomas and I'm a photographer and filmmaker currently residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I grew up in Florida right next to the Everglades and although I photograph a wide variety of subjects and locations, the Florida Everglades will always be my first love.
