Description
NEW YORK CITY TAXI
Taxi cabs transporting their fares stop a red light in Times Square in New York City. New York City taxi cabs have been an iconic symbol of Manhattan for decades and dot the landscape with colorful splashes of yellow. Despite the popularity of Uber and other ridesharing apps, taxi cabs have shown little sign of fading out.
In smaller cities ridesharing has become the most popular means of transportation and has overtaken taxis by a wide margin. Taxis take longer to arrive, are many times dirty, and have notoriously unfriendly drivers. In New York City it's a much different scenario. All you have to do to hail a cab in New York City is raise your hand and you'll have a ride in seconds. Much faster than Uber and if you're traveling a short distance it's not that much more expensive. All the cabs we took during this trip were brand new and clean as well.
Hopefully the New York City taxi cabs will be around for a long time and continue to be a iconic part our history like they have always been.
